Shire’s Children has a new direction
You haven’t heard much from Shire’s Children! That is all about to change.
The committee had gone into hibernation to mull over a new direction. Like so many print magazines we needed to respond to a changing world where print has become more difficult and for the moment we are putting the printed magazine on hold and expanding our online vision.
So look out for loads more fantastic articles from an amazing group of talented writers and community events on our “what’s on” page. Remember this is a community project and we would love to hear from anyone who would like to be involved. Just contact Alison on Alison@shireschildren.com.au.
Shire’s Children, past present and future
Shire’s Children is an incorporated association whose mission is to provide high quality information for parents, to create community among parents and to raise money for two wonderful services, Orana Early support service and 3 bridges early years support services. These services train volunteers to help parents who may need the support of an extra pair of hands.
Shire’s Children started out in 2013 as a 32 page community magazine packed with loads of useful information and articles and distributed throughout the Sutherland and St George area.
In 2017 the decision was made to respond to a new world where print has become more difficult and to expand our online vision. We continue to provide high quality information from our amazing group of talented writers and a “what’s on “page for the Sutherland Shire and St George area on this website.
Looking ahead we are hoping Shire’s Children will find a direction respond to a new world where print has becomes more difficult and online more overwhelming with a move “BACK to the FUTURE”. We will be organising and promoting a diverse range of events all with the focus of providing quality information for parents, creating community and bringing people together in an actual physical space not just cyberspace and of course raising money for services that support parents.
